As an alternative to traditional counseling, we are committed to offering experiential therapy services as a way to provide clients with relevant mental health counseling focused on resolving primary concerns, increasing skills, deepening meaningful understanding, and creating a space for authentic healing to occur. Rooted in outdoor recreation and experiential education, Gass, Gillis, & Russell (2012) define this type of therapy as, “The prescriptive use of adventure experiences provided by mental health professionals often in natural settings that kinesthetically engage clients on cognitive, affective, and behavioral levels.” Along with more traditional reflective listening and sharing, interventions in nature-based and adventure-based counseling are facilitated for your learning and growth. Both indoor and outdoor activities are available and are safely structured to encourage personal growth and development.
